Anchor Hanover picks contractors for housing construction

England’s largest non-profit organization of later life living, Anchor Hanover has shortlisted 11 building contractors who’ll be responsible for a supply framework. The picked companies will totally build 3,200 homes for older people over the next eight years, as per expectations.

Willmott Dixon, Castleoak, Vistry, United Living Engie, and Mclaren Construction, who have been selected on a national contractor basis will deliver the construction works, while most contracts will be in the £5m to £25m value band.

Few contracts worth more than or equal to £25m will be awarded on a regional basis from a panel. The members in the panel are Higgins Construction, Durkan and Hill Partnerships in the south, and Esh and Seddon Construction in the north of England.

Locations in Newmarket, Suffolk and York are put for building processes as the bidding process for the first projects under this new framework are underway. However, they will be put to tender within the next month.

69 apartments and 58 apartments offering home ownership and independent living is the target for Newmarket and York respectively. The successful contractors will be appointed to build a development starting from autumn and November 2021 respectively.
