UK’s biggest house builder Barratt has decided to reopen its sites and resume construction work at its sites from May 11. Barratt’s 360 active sites were shut last month and Barratt has furloughed 85% of its workforce amid coronavirus crisis.
Barratt has been testing all possible ways to maintain safety guidelines on a pilot site and decided to restart half of its construction sites this month. Hence, this restart will help a significant proportion of staff to get back to the work from furlough.
David Thomas(Chief Executive) has conveyed that their first priority to make sure their employees, subcontractors and customers are safe and healthy.
