Brymor that operates as the Portsmouth based construction firm has gained a £27m contract for building a new cruise terminal at the Southampton docks. This is the first biggest job ever that Brymor has taken on in its 30 years of trading.
Associated British Ports’ (ABP) master plan includes the new T5 terminal as a key part for the Port of Southampton. The new construction will be the fifth dedicated cruise terminal and is costing ABP £55m. This 11, 695m2 project is due for completion in time for the 2021 cruise season.
The construction features precast piling and associated foundations, fibre reinforced ground floor slab, deep drainage, external works and hard landscaping, steel frame, curved glulam beams and roof with exposed soffits, MEP services, curtain walling and cladding, internal finishes, Link Bridge for connection to shore Air Bridge and to the ship.
