The development of exoskeletal systems for construction workers is on the go from Hilti Group. The company is associating with prosthetic specialist Ottobock to bring these specially made work suits. The product will be first launched this Autumn.
The EXO-O1 system does not require an energy supply and works as a passive model. The technology works in a way that the weight of the arms is transferred to the hips. This transfer happens via the forearm supports using mechanical cable pulling technology.
Also, this working technology reduces the peak load on the muscles. It relieves shoulders by up to 47% and provides help for work above shoulder level and overhead.
