Four schemes have now progressed to the preconstruction agreement stage, with Willmott Dixon further tightening its hold on early-stage delivery after securing PCSA deals at Strode College and Crispin School in Street and Somerton, Sale High School in Greater Manchester, and Oulton Academy in Leeds.

Morgan Sindall picked up the final available PCSA, taking on Water Meadows Primary School in Nottinghamshire.

In addition, the DfE has approved six more school rebuild projects for full construction, with a combined value of roughly £162m.

Bam landed two of the largest contracts: a £68m rebuild of Framwellgate School in Durham and a £31m replacement of Friesland School in Sandiacre, Derbyshire.

Bowmer & Kirkland rounded out the trio of major secondary projects, securing a £32m rebuild at Sawston Village College in Cambridgeshire.

Tilbury Douglas also added three smaller schemes totalling just over £31m, covering Baskerville School in Birmingham’s SEND sector, Buckton Fields Primary in Northampton, and St Cuthbert Mayne Junior Academy in Torquay.

These latest sign-offs follow a similar £270m tranche approved last month, as the DfE continues to push forward with its drive to modernise aging school buildings, address RAAC issues, and build momentum across the national Schools Rebuilding Programme.
