Galliford Try is given a contract to deliver the next stage of the expansion of RAF Lossiemouth for the Typhoon Squadron. A £20m contract to the firm to build facilities is awarded by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and to complete the house Number IX (Bomber) Squadron.

The works are expected to start later this summer and might be completed in the next two years. The contract includes the refurbishment of an existing hangar and construction of new technical and storage facilities. With this particular project, a wider redevelopment of RAF Lossiemouth will take place. It also includes facilities for the RAF’s fleet of Poseidon Mk 1 sub-hunters, and a refurbished runway.
