There would be two new office buildings constructed at Thorpe Park Leeds as GMI Construction will start the works soon. Scarborough Group International (SGI) has secured planning consent from Leeds City Council for this development.
The new approval for 133,118 sq ft development will allow headquarters building in addition to a nearby 60,000 sq ft building that was approved earlier this year. Site preparations were started at Thorpe Park and GMI Construction will build both of them.
£71m is the gross development value and the contract value was not disclosed. New investments will be flowing in the surrounding landscape, as Redrow continues to develop new homes at the park.
Thorpe Park Leeds with the phase two development was enabled following a £162m investment from Legal & General Capital in 2015. It even allowed paving the way for 1.35 million sq ft of mixed use expansion.
The second phase development which will happen at junction 46 of the M1 was enabled after the delivery of the first section of the East Leeds Orbital Road (ELOR). Connecting north and east Leeds to junction 46 of the M1, it’s being built by Balfour Beatty.
The Department for Transport along with a new East Leeds Parkway railway station is investing £270m in infrastructure in this part of Leeds.
