The partnership of Mace and Atkins delivers a £9bn investment programme and helps Thames Water security for the AMP7 period. While Atkins has been named Strategic Delivery Partner, the intelligent client model requires it to strengthen in-house capabilities. The water company is moving away from alliance with key supply chain partners and delivering this ambition.
The collaboration will deliver project management, asset management, and technical assurance services. This indeed is to support the utility’s transition. Mace plays the role in this project as the Programme Management Office delivery partner. Mace will assist Thames Water with quality assurance, programme management, business systems and processes, governance & risk.
The team at Mace team will majorly work on the PMO capabilities and support Thames Water build. It will take forward with selection and training of PMO personnel, a comprehensive transition plan, and development of PMO policies and practices. Atkins will take up £20m contract work over the five-year AMP7 period.
