ISG starts construction works for £50m Royal Marsden cancer centre

ISG initiated the £50m contract to build The Oak Cancer Centre at The Royal Marsden in London. The new building will be at research centre’s Sutton site and the gateway to the world-renowned cancer hospital.

The new cancer centre will provide new outpatient facilities, medical day-care and collaboration space for clinical researchers. These all allow accelerating cancer diagnosis and treatment for patients in a six-storey, 134,000 sq ft concrete frame building.

The construction works by ISG are targeted to meet BREEAM Excellent environmental performance rating. It is designed to bring patients and researchers close together and drive innovation in treatments and outcomes.

The floor layouts and the high specification materials are used throughout the building and selected with the patient experience at the heart of the process. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2022.
