J S Wright has been awarded a contract worth approximately £17 million for the latest phase of London Dock. St George, the Berkeley Group’s luxury residential brand, has hired the Birmingham-based building services specialist to install the mechanical and electrical systems for all 359 new-build apartments at Saffron Wharf.
The mixed-tenure apartment building is part of a master plan for 1,800 new homes and 180,000 square feet of commercial space on the former News International printworks’ 15-acre site. J S Wright will be essential in connecting London Dock’s existing phases by extending its district heating system and mains cold water service to Saffron Wharf and future phases.
“We are thrilled that our reputation for equipping large residential developments with combined M&E systems to full customer satisfaction has been rewarded with such a prestigious commission from a new client,” said Peter Grierson, Managing Director of J S Wright.
Work on site is expected to begin in late 2022, with the contract expected to be completed in early 2025.
