Kier has been lined up for the £77 million overhaul of RAAC-hit Stepney All Saints Church of England Secondary School in east London. Tilbury Douglas has also secured the £31 million Cavendish School project in Eastbourne.
The Stepney All Saints project will involve the design, build and refurbishment of the existing 1,500-place secondary school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets.
RAAC has been identified across several parts of the school estate, including the roof of the main building. This has forced the closure of part of the fourth floor.
Kier has initially been appointed under a preconstruction services agreement covering early supplier involvement as part of a two-stage procurement process.
The final works value will be agreed as detailed design progresses. The overall programme is currently scheduled to run until July 2031.
Tilbury Douglas has meanwhile been selected for the £31 million Cavendish School project in Eastbourne.
The all-through academy on Eldon Road caters for pupils aged two to 16 and has around 1,350 pupils.
Its main school building dates from 1939, with several later extensions added across the campus.
Tilbury Douglas will now develop the design and refurbishment proposals during the preconstruction phase before the main design and build contract is agreed.
The Cavendish School programme is scheduled to run until November 2029.
