Laing O’Rourke-owned Select Plant is using tower crane lifts as a new lift system. The crane operators apply this system on the firm’s Tottenham Court Road job in central London. This T-lift is designed by manufacturer Terex and assures the real transmission in the work style of tower crane operators.
The lift system offers easier access and easier maintenance. It also allows for quick recovery of operators by site rescue teams if needed. Darren Twelvetree, Select senior plant manager said that if an operator requires additional support or assistance in the air, support crews can now gain access to the cab in a faster and far more effective work manner.
