LHC starts hunt for contractors in £1.6bn building frameworks

The most ambitious frameworks from the Local authority procurement specialist LHC will get started once the shortlisting of bidders is done. This mega framework from LHC worth £1.6bn estimations lasting up to four years will cover public building works of varying sizes.

The projects will be carried across England, Wales and Scotland. The current projects that are yet to expire next summer will be followed with next generation frameworks as successors leading to Schools and Community Buildings frameworks.

Morgan Sindall, Galliford Try, Vinci, Kier, and Willmott Dixon are the firms in the existing pool of preferred contractors while regional players such as Speller Metcalfe, Esh, and Robertson are in the race.

Scotland and England with individual workload forecasts are each being estimated at £750m over four years. Besides, Wales is expected to account for £100m of spend. the framework has previously delivered school and health projects on a main scale with all public building works under inclusion.

Public Buildings Construction and Infrastructure framework

·         New Build Only — up £2m

·         Refurbishment Only — up to £2m

·         New Build and Refurbishment — £2m-7m

·         New Build, Refurbishment, and Infrastructure — £7m-£14m

·         New Build, Refurbishment, and Infrastructure — £14m-£25m

·         New Build, Refurbishment, and Infrastructure — Over £25m

The final expressions of interest will end up on 13 November. 27 November would be the last date for invitation of tenders for the shortlisted firms. The announcement of winners is yet to happen during early May 2021. The frameworks will be launched in July 2021.
