HS2 main works civil contractors are lining up with the firms to shortlist key subcontract packages on the scheme. The packages include the bidding on earthworks and drainage, multi-utility diversions, and precast concrete for major structures.
HS2 Euston Station – Complex Multi Utility Diversionary Works

Expressions of interest are called on by Mace Dragados to the subcontractors who would be undertaking complex utility diversion and protection works. The scope of works is covered with a £40m package.
The works related to detailed design services and construction works would cover large diameter sewer and water main diversions. The other works to be accomplished are power cable diversions and civil works enabling multiple electrical substation relocations.
BBV HS2 MWCC North – Earthworks – Mainline Civils – Drainage Framework

Vinci and Balfour Beatty are looking to establish a supply chain for earthworks, civils, and drainage works. This would be done on N1 and N2 contract packages leading to Birmingham.
Establishment of a 2-year rolling preferred framework is being handled by BBV for subcontractors to deliver across the mainline section with the packages ranging £50k – £20m.
HS2 C1 – Viaduct Precast Segment Formwork Cells

Joint Venture by ALIGN includes VolkerFitzpatrick, Bouygues, and Sir Robert McAlpine is in search of a supplier for over 1000 precast segments for the 2.1 miles long Colne Valley Viaduct. Each segment will be 3m long, 13.5m wide, and 3m – 6.7m high weighing from 100t to 140t.
HS2 Main Civils Works S1 and S2 sectors – WP071_A_Pre-cast Concrete

Costain, Skanska, Strabag as a Joint Venture is looking for suppliers in delivering precast concrete. This will be for various elements on its S1 and S2 contracts. It includes bridge beams for the River Pinn Underbridge and the Breakspear Road South Underbridge. Alongside, ventilation shaft units for the Copthall Tunnel and culverts for several sections are the project requirements.
