McLaren Construction has been chosen to build the £11.4 million High Leigh Primary School in Hoddesdon.
This new two-form entry primary school will accommodate 420 pupils aged 4-11 and will feature an integrated 30-place nursery. It is set to replace the existing one-form entry Westfield Community Primary School in Hoddesdon, providing additional capacity to support the new High Leigh Garden Village where it will be located. The project also includes the development of a car park, sports pitches, and soft landscaping. Reports Construction Journal
The construction of the new school will utilize structural insulated panels (SIPs) between concrete floors. These SIPs are supplied by Innovaré Systems, a Coventry-based company acquired by Bowmer & Kirkland from the Osborne Group last year.
“Budgets are always tight in the public sector and the education authority needs the confidence that a quality learning environment for pupils can be created within agreed costs. We can give that confidence through our experience of building many schools for all ages, alongside sports or science facilities and buildings designed for pupils with special needs.”
