The 117,190 sq ft development will be situated at Paddington Village within the city’s Knowledge Quarter innovation district.
Hemisphere One is the first phase of a two-stage project, alongside Hemisphere Two, which will collectively provide a net total of 216,693 sq ft of advanced chemistry, data, bio, and innovation labs. The scheme will also feature incubator space, grow-on facilities, and commercial lab space. Reports Contract Journal
A separate tender process will be undertaken at a later stage for Hemisphere Two.Morgan Sindall has been appointed to support Sciontec in refining the technical design, ensuring a seamless transition into the construction phase, which is scheduled to commence on-site in the autumn.
The tender process was managed through the North West Construction Hub High Value Framework. Morgan Sindall previously delivered The Spine, a 160,000 sq ft commercial building that houses the Royal College of Physicians, located adjacent to the Hemisphere One site.
Sciontec is a collaborative venture involving Liverpool City Council, the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, and Bruntwood SciTech.
