Andrew Stephenson(Lancashire MP) has been appointed as the new Minister for the HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail. The new minister Andrew Stephenson will be personally monitoring the HS2, and he will have accountability for HS2. Stephenson has stated that “delighted to be given responsibility for HS2, essential we keep a firm grip on these vital projects”. Before taking the Department of transport responsibility he worked as a government whip in the foreign office.
