The £18m redevelopment of the former Odeon Cinema in Bradford is in process as contractor auditions will soon start. The conversion will witness into a live entertainment and events venue. The not-for-profit distribution social enterprise, Developer Bradford Live will take this up.
The reconstruction aims to create a new 4,000 capacity world-class live entertainment and events venue. This will be led by Developer Bradford Live along with local business people. Invitation for contractors is being called to tender for the project, after receiving planning and striking a deal with the Birmingham-based NEC Group to operate the venue.
The invitation for firms to apply to apply is set by Consultant Turner and Townsend. At a later stage, short listing for a five-way tender race for the project will be done. The entire building will be served by new electrical, acoustic, heating and cooling, lighting, ventilation, and fire control systems.
