HMRC said that it would provide grants of up to 80% of employee’s wages that cannot be kept in full-time work. This move will be effective under the wage protection scheme with an estimation of up to £2,500 a month to be capped.
The government also announced to defer VAT payments for firms until the end of June. This is considered as part of an extra wave of measures to protect the economy and people from the spread of coronavirus. Contractors will then be given time until the end of 2020 to pay VAT bills.
