The £60m project is being delivered on behalf of a joint venture between Moorfield Group and Tiger Developments, with ambitious sustainability targets including EPC A certification and a BREEAM Excellent rating. The development will incorporate photovoltaic (PV) panels and connect to a district heating network to enhance its environmental performance.

Located within the Temple Quarter, the Freestone Yards scheme will regenerate a brownfield site to create four residential blocks comprising 65 ensuite cluster flats and 136 self-contained studios. The purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project is designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent standard, reflecting its strong sustainability credentials.

Managing director Gwyn Pritchard said: “Securing Gateway 2 approval for our PBSA scheme on Freestone Road underlines our ability to move complex projects forward while maintaining a clear focus on quality and excellence in construction delivery.”

The development further strengthens Moorfield’s growing student accommodation portfolio, which already includes around 5,000 completed beds delivered through its Domain platform, alongside more than 2,000 additional beds currently being progressed as part of its wider student housing strategy.”
