Welsh housing framework worth £5bn at a stage of picking places

The bidding for places is under way as the Welsh Procurement Alliance is inviting firms to do it. This is in sync with the pool of contractors to deliver housing in south and mid-Wales. Procurement specialist London Housing Consortium is managing the dynamic purchasing agreement.

The estimations for the housing framework stand at over £5bn on a 10-year term. Besides, the Welsh Government has set a target to build 20,000 new affordable homes. End of the term of this parliament is what the government is aiming to finish with the target.

Housing associations in Wales are planning to double current build rates. This is to deliver at least 75,000 affordable homes in Wales over the next 20 years. The new build housing projects include different kinds of structures. Bungalows, housing, apartments, flats, and accommodation for students and care homes are a part of the project.
