Winchmore will be responsible for laying nearly one million handset bricks, covering 16,000m2, as part of the development. This project will run alongside other Peabody-led improvements in the local area.
A key supporter of training in the construction sector, Winchmore plans to deploy its Brickwork Group’s skills bus to visit schools, academies, and colleges throughout the region.
Chairman Tony Yianni explained: “The bus serves as a mobile classroom, offering insights into our fantastic trade through videos, literature, and hands-on tools.”
“Presentations by current, and former, Winchmore Brickwork Group apprentices are structured to give a taste of what our trade is all about, encouraging the next generation of bricklayers to ‘take up the trowel’ and be one of the, at least ten apprentices, in various capacities, we are committed to taking on for this project alone.”
