Milton Keynes £30m office to flats project approved

Milton Keynes Council has approved a £30 million office-to-flat conversion in the town. Westminster House (formerly AGF House) on Avebury Boulevard has been approved for conversion into 237 C3 residential units by developer Urban Village Group. The construction of three additional floors to the three-story building is expected to begin in the first half of 2023. When completed, the site will include a residents’ gym, cinema, communal entertainment facility, and work spaces for residents on the lower floors.

The final site will include two studios, 140 one-bedroom flats, and 95 two-bedroom flats, according to a Milton Keynes City Council report from November 3. There will be 274 cycle spaces inside the building, with an existing 46-space carpark at the back remaining.

“The demand for private rented housing continues to rise.,” said Urban Village Group CEO Nick Sellman. “Our Westminster House project will help meet the region’s growing demand. We are transforming an abandoned and neglected office building into a place where people will enjoy coming home, with all of the shopping and entertainment options right on their doorstep.”
