Amey and Briggs Defence have secured the £240m deal for the new joint venture. With this combination, Briggs Equipment as a specialist division of asset management and provider for engineering services will take up until 2027.
The new contract is bagged by Amey-Briggs joint venture for the Ministry of Defence’s fleet of construction and materials handling equipment. The agreement is an important new MOD contract, which is known as MITER.
The new contract involves the deployment and maintenance of key equipment. The specialized tools will be used by the UK’s Armed Forces and also supports military personnel while using. A single fleet management and maintenance provision arrangement is clubbed under a new deal combined under three separate contracts.
Protected Engineering Equipment, Defence Mechanical Handling Equipment (DMHE), and C-vehicle Capability contracts comprise the new consolidated MITER contract. Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force personnel will be the key players using the services of this new contract that supports the MOD’s requirement.
