HS2 has opened the bidding for Birmingham’s landmark Curzon Street station worth £570m. Rail procurement chiefs have chosen for a two-stage bid process for the first time to put down the cost of delivering the project. This is the second time the massive station project has been put out to bid. Last year HS2 canceled the previous bid race due to a lack of interest from contractors. HS2 has now recast the procurement process to rebalance the risk transfer between client & contractor.
