The construction company Caddick has kick-started pre-construction works for The Manchester College project. This includes a £25m teaching facility for the Openshaw Campus. The firm will be handling the whole project after the Education College’s governing LTE Group awarded it.
A sports and public services building on Ashton Old Road are set under the deal. Furthermore, a healthcare suite, construction and motor vehicle learning facility, and a six court sports hall are included in the construction plan and will be in place as the work progresses.
The Manchester College in Greater Manchester is said to be one of the largest further education colleges in the UK. It has been providing education services and known to be the largest single provider for ages 16-19, and higher education.
Ian Threadgold, Managing Director of Caddick Construction’s North West office had revealed the opening plans of the campus. He said the project would be completed and the first students might be appearing in September 2021 as it would open.
