Construction News can confirm that Alun Griffiths has appointed the longtime managing director of Farrans to the position.
This month, David Parr replaced Stephen Tomkins, who left the contractor after working there for almost two years. Tarmac Contracting purchased the company in January 2018 for £36 million, becoming the owner of the company. Parr worked with Farrans for 22 years in total, beginning as a project manager before moving up the corporate ladder. He most recently served as the company’s director of procurement.
According to a representative for Alun Griffiths, Tomkins departed the company to pursue new employment options. We wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavours,” they continued. We can vouch for David Parr’s appointment as Griffiths’ managing director.
Tomkins was with Balfour Beatty as a regional operations director until joining Alun Griffiths in February 2021. His former employment included time at Galliford Try and Alun Griffiths.
