Galliford Try wins renewal contract of Perry Barr station

Galliford Try is given the clearance to start the delayed M56 upgrade. Highways England approved Galliford to start the works in Greater Manchester and Cheshire at the end of this month.

The North West motorway that carries 100,000 vehicles a day is a four-mile section between junction 6 at Hale and junction 8 at Bowdon and is one of the busiest one. An extra running lane will be added to both the westbound and eastbound carriageways.

The new carriageways will help tackle congestion and provide more reliable journeys. This will be of great advantage for city centre commuters and businesses as well as tourists using the airport.

The upgraded motorway will also be installed with technology while four emergency areas will provide refuge in the event of breakdowns. Main construction works will be completed by March 2022.
