Maro Developments which is the North West-based firm has gained layout approval for four interlinked blocks at Brunswick Quay on Liverpool waterfront. Accessible from Atlantic Way, 550 flats with ground floor commercial space will be built under the Fletcher-Rae designed scheme at the southern edge of Brunswick Dock.
Unfortunately, the secretary of state for communities rejected a plan for a 51-storey tower way back in 2006, and in the same location that got an approval now. Under the new approval plan, the tallest block will rise to nearly 40m or 16 floors. A secure enclosed car parking will be placed and above it are the buildings linked by landscaped garden piazzas.
Cladding with red stone will be made on the lower floors of the building while with cream metal cladding will be present for the above floors. The construction of this project lasts up to three and half years, while this Brunswick Quay scheme might create an average of 200 full-time jobs in the set construction period.
