Primark store site to turn into 39-storey tower in Sheffield

The redevelopment plans are submitted by Developer SFGE Properties for replacing the former Primark store to a 39-storey residential block in Sheffield city centre. While the site is located in the Castlegate area, the repurpose is to create just over 200 flats.

Architect Hodder + Partners have designed the plan with the £40m Kings Tower scheme planning application following submissions for two other high-rises. The high-rise duo is for student accommodation and the plans were submitted recently.

Post the approval of redevelopment plans, the demolition of the vacant shopping store would happen at 57 High Street. This would also follow with a construction team on site by summer 2021.

Novo Engineering acts as building services consultant and structural engineer Clancy Consulting. Along with cost consultant Turner & Townsend are working as the client team for the proposed project.
