Morgan Sindall Construction is all set to take up the project of Mickleover primary school reconstruction, after it was damaged by fire last year. This rebuild project in Derby includes building a three-form-entry school to provide teaching space for 270 pupils.

Also, a 26-place nursery for children is put in consideration for those who lost their existing school due to a fire in October 2020. Derby City Council has awarded this £6.9m modular project at Ravensdale Infant School.

The project was approved via the Scape Construction framework. The modular nature of the new building, designed by Lungfish Architects, reduces build time by 45 weeks. The whole school will arrive on lorries in 58 modules.

Demolition works started in early 2021. The timetable envisages pupils moving in after the 2022 summer half-term break.
