Morgan Sindall starts £31m Leeds resi scheme

Morgan Sindall will start building a new intelligent automation and robotics facility at the University of Salford. The new £12m research and development centre will be started with construction after the demolition of the existing two-storey Technology House building happens.

The construction project will need to achieve a BREEAM rating of 70+. The robotics centre will serve as a hub for the university’s robotics and automation specialists who will work with SMEs to pilot and test advances.

5plus is the architect who designed this 23,000 sq ft centre. This research centre forms part of the wider £800m Salford masterplan. It involves the transformation of 99 hectares of central Salford real estate.It comes in place nearer to the University’s estate, several city cultural assets, Peel Park and the Meadows, and local residential neighbourhoods. Morgan Sindall has recently taken up an education campus project for construction earlier this month.
